MANY QUESTION ---- IS THE APOCALYPSE AT HAND ??? As I am sure you are all aware....The Bible speaks of an End Time in which Nations will rise against Nations... I want to share something with all of you... When I was 13 years old...I was bored...summer vacation in rural Illinois was not very entertaining as you may imagine... I was flipping through the channels on the t.v....this is back when you had to get up and turn the channels by hand...And, low and behold....there was a t.v. preacher spewing fire and brimstone about the end of the world coming soon and that we all needed to send him money blah blah blah.... Due to my boredom and my sense of curiosity...I thought to my self...Is there any truth in this t.v. preachers words??? For, even at 13 years old I was clever enough to realize that even the greatest of lies is often based on grains of truth... Curiosity led me to the family bookcase and a big old dusty Bible there....I decided that I would balance the Bible on its back and allow it to fall open to any page that God saw fit...And if there was any truth in it...it would fall open to a page that would reveal it to me.... As far as I remember this was the first time I had ever even thought about actually reading words in the Bible...Back then, I was still a " Look at the Pictures and figure it out" kind of guy....And I trusted no one... and I followed no one... ever since I figured out that my parents told me the first lie... the lie about Santa Claus... Plop....The Bible fell open to a page that was near the back...At first...I thought that I would do it again because it fell too lopsided....Then I realized that it would not be fair to re-do it....If there is something here for me to see...It better be right here in front of me.... Plop...Down goes my finger and I began reading from there....I read the following..... REV-10:1 And I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and an arch of coloured light was round his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire; And he gave a loud cry, like the angry voice of a lion... I immediately shut the book and began to envision this " angel "... I pictured a large cloud....arched at the top and a bright blinding light...atop pillars of fire....and a loud roarrrrrr.... Sounded exactly like a mushroom cloud and the pillars of fire that I always had seen on t.v...in nuclear bomb detonations....Complete with the roar of the explosion...I tried to imagine how a Bible that was published in 1920's...could be describing a nuclear explosion...What was this man from 2000 years ago seeing??? How could he be seeing this??? The writer of this was living in a time where a crossbow was the weapon of mass destruction!!! I read on and found that entire populations were being killed and turned to skeletons before they even hit the ground...That fits the description of nuclear war....Needless to say...under the circumstances...I decided that God was trying to " enlighten " me that yes...there is a grain of truth in what that t.v. preacher was saying... I went on to study and discover about people who would be false prophets...about which nations would be involved...including a nation that " had the moon under its feet"...and many other things...That one boring summer day had changed the course of my life... and placed me atop a watchtower. | |||
