In 1998 The Momentum Traders Network was founded in Champaign Illinois as a group of investors who shared an interest in short term stock plays... The group stayed in contact through instant messaging and chat rooms and achieved substantial success in the booming market of the late 90's...

   As the group grew larger and more sophisticated,  The Momentum Traders Network was created as a site for the group to coordinate and consolidate their efforts... Word quickly spread through the chat rooms and message boards that this group was making great strides in the quest for significant short term gains.

   As the requests for membership grew and the Momentum Alerts became top performers regardless of general market conditions The Momentum Traders Network website was opened to the public as a subscription based membership on February 22, 2000.

   The Charging Bulls of the original site flew as the standard for nearly 10 years !

  As of the opening date in February 2000, The Network grew rapidly to over 40,000 subscribed members and the Momentum Alerts were incredible by any standard !!!  Many a college education were paid for with profits from the Momentum Alerts and The Momentum Network was one of, if not the, hottest stock alert services of the 2000-2001 market year.

  With dozens of awards for top stock alerts and largest percentage gains as well as top site awards it appeared that nothing could stop the Momentum Traders Network from evolving into an Internet heavyweight...

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

   The date that changed everything...

   With the new emerging threats and the increasingly rapid development of a global economy the Stock Market in general became a much more serious and dangerous place to function...

   The Momentum Traders Network was opened to the public as a free alert service and relied more heavily on the membership to act as the eyes and ears on the market... With thousands of participating members all watching and researching stocks and reporting to a central site, the success was still remarkable despite the more turbulent market environment...

   As the years passed, and hundreds of stock alert sites opened across the world... The Momentum Network watched as the alerts gradually became less and less efficient when compared to the " good ole days " ...  There were still successful alerts to be sure, however, they were fewer and further between...

   Now ... As of January 1st 2009 ... We are opening up the year with many of the old school connections in place and a new look and feel to the website with alerts placed onsite for all to see...

   Already this year stocks like DROOY and PALM were alerted in the years first January alert and are up big for the year to date... Stem Cell Stocks like GERN and STEM were in alerts BEFORE they popped big...

   As of March 2009 we are working hard to re-assemble the players and pieces and once again bring The Momentum Traders Network to the top of the charts and bring all of our members together to work towards finding and alerting big gainer stocks !!!
